Manage Active Directory for Windows 7 – Dsa.msc

If you use Active Directory in your project,it is essential that we understand how we can manage active directory users.Windows provides a utility “Active Directory Users and Computers” for the same & the following steps help you configure it on your win 7 machine.

Install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) from here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=7887

Complete all installation steps in the wizard, and then click Finish to exit the wizard when installation is finished.

Go to Control panel
Go to Program and Features
Click “Turn windows features on or off”
On pop up window, expand “Remote Server administration Tools” ->”Role Administration Tools”
Ckeck the box “AD DS and AD LDS Tools” and click “OK”
You should be able to see “Active Directory Users and Computers” in the program menu and click on it or type Dsa.msc on Run & press enter to open the utility.

    Thanks but i am unable to reset the password of any user, it is saying “you do not have permission” please help how can i do the same in Windows 7, i have installed RSAT also..

    I am having the same issues as others here, in that I have not been able to find dsa.msc, and have tried three times, (uninstalling, and installing again).
